Roberta Rush: Ministry Assistant: Worship and Administration
What do you do at Main Street?
I assist our Minister of Worship and Administration in preparing music for our Sunday morning worship services and play the piano in our Praise Band. My administrative duties focus mainly in the financial areas.

Tell me about your family?
I grew up in Bellevue and married my high school sweetheart, Charlie. We have two children, Fred and Amy, and four terrific grandchildren. Fred and his family live in Texas, while Amy and her family live in Maryland.

What is your background?
received my Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Cincinnati and my Master of Arts in Education from the University of Kentucky. I taught junior high for four years in Lexington. The last twenty-three years I have been a math teacher at Pendleton County High School.

Charlie and I came to Main Street in May of 1993 when I was hired as the pianist and choir accompanist. I began working full time on staff at Main Street June 6, 2008.

What do you love best about Main Street?
Main Street is like a caring family. When I first came to Main Street I was given the opportunity to use the talents God had given me to glorify Him. Over the years, as the music has evolved, my talents have grown too. Whatever talents a person may have, the opportunity to use those talents is present at Main Street.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Top priority would have to be spending time with our grandchildren. After that, it would be playing the piano for fun and my own enjoyment. I enjoy reading inspirational books and working math and logic puzzles.

What are some of your favorites?
Music
Gospel and Contemporary Christian whether it was from the 70’s and 80’s or today, music from Rodgers and Hammerstein shows, and any kind of Christmas music

Movies
I like romantic comedies that are not R-rated, musicals and again, anything that has to do with Christmas. I am a hopeless romantic.

Books
Chicken Soup for the Teacher’s Soul by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala and The Heart of the Artist by Rory Noland

Food
Ham, roast beef, and ice cream (not necessarily in that order); nothing really spicy
